30th Northstar Arts Camp for Children
June 15 – 18, 2026

The 30th Northstar Arts Camp will be held at Mesaba Co-op Park near Hibbing, MN on June 15-18, from 10am – 4pm. The day camp is for children ages 8-13 and encourages individual creative expression through art-making, handicraft, music, dance, theater and exploration of the natural world.

2026 Artists

Hibbing artist, musician, and yogi Angela Schweiberger will present Earth Savers, an intersection of art-making, movement, and caring for the planet. Angela will focus on sustainability—using art to understand our environmental impact & creatively build a deeper & more meaningful relationship to the Earth.

Laurie Antonson is an elementary teacher, yoga teacher, theater artist and musician. Along with her partner, musician and sound engineer Wayne Leeds, Laurie will explore storytelling, sound production, and drama in North Star Radio Hour. Campers will write and record a radio theater play complete with dialogue, music, and sound effects (much like a stage play for the ear).

Other artists will include Hibbing Schools theater director Megan Reynolds, music by Oscar Forsman, and maypole dancing by Terrence Smith. Other activities will include Forest Walks with Phenologist John Latimer, group sings and more.

Cost is $100 per camper. All activities, materials, and wholesome lunches and snacks are included. Some scholarships are available. Additional funding for the camp is made possible by generous donations from the Hibbing Foundation, Lake Country Power, Hibbing Kiwanis Club, Hibbing Public Utilities and generous individual donors. The camp is jointly sponsored by Hibbing Community Education.
